Elaine Bay

Archer Track
The Archer Track to Penzance starts right outside your accommodation. An easy 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hour (depending on your fitness) walk takes you around into the Penzance community. Stunning views out towards Cook Strait and into Tennyson Inlet can be seen along the way. Deep Bay is approximately half way and is a good mountain bike ride (we have mountain bikes to hire). From Deep Bay to Penzance the native forest contains many large Nikau Palms.

Piwakawaka Track
This track starts across the other side of Elaine Bay and is another easy walk through native forest. Browns Bay at the end of the track is a nice beach for a swim or picnic. A return trip takes about an hour and a half.

Beaches
There are several nice, safe beaches for swimming within Elaine Bay, handy to the unit. Others can be found along the Archer Track.

Explore Pelorus Sea Kayaks
Double sea kayaks can be hired from an Elaine Bay operator. Daily and half day rates available.

Nydia Track
An easy two-day Marlborough Sounds track that starts from Kaiuma Bay near Havelock and finishes in Duncan Bay, Tennyson Inlet. Accommodation is available in Nydia Bay.

Transport

Rental cars can be hired locally for around $50 per day.
